Do you sometimes wish you could...

  • use poisonous chemicals to keep the furry four legged critters from eating all your green beans in your garden?
  • eat off of paper products all the time so you didn't have to do the dishes?
  • bleach your kids' horribly dingy socks?
  • shop till you drop?
  • let your kids eat Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch every morning (and hey, if it's there you might as well eat it too, right?)?
  • let the air conditioning make it REALLY cold in your house in the summer?
  • could take 1/2 hour long, hot showers every day?
  • just use paper towels instead of washing all those rags?
  • throw everything in the trash can?
  • not spend half your time figuring out how to use up the leftovers so you don't waste food?
  • leave your phone charger plugged in all day instead of bending over to unplug it?
  • _____________________________ (insert your own wish here)?
No one ever said it was going to be easy.

Every day. 10 times a day. But every day it gets easier, and then it becomes second nature, and then you start to wonder how you ever lived with yourself prior to enlightenment. Great article.

"Yes" to leaving the phone charger in. Electronics are 1 weakness. And "Yes" to eating easily prepared junk food, though NEVER anything with peanut butter. Eww...

It's a way of life. I don't really remember any of these other things being hard for me, but then I didn't grow up expecting any of that. Who uses disposable plates in Scotland? We always ate leftovers because we didn't like waste.

It's taken a bit to get used to the heat with the thermostat set at 78F, but recently I've actually said I'm cold several times. NEVER thought I'd say that about 78F!

Yes Yes and thrice Yes.

There are days when I think "that bloody frog was right all along"

Glad I'm not alone here! And I've got another to add as of this morning.

Do you ever wish you could just use poison to keep the frickin' rabbits out of your vegetable garden!

YES. What a great list, It gets hard sometimes, and it's heartening to hear that I'm not the only one who struggles.

See, I was so angry about finding that the rabbits ate my parsley, that I forgot the first thing on my list was poison.

Really, those rabbits are going to do my sanity in. I'm Elmer Fudd and Carl Spackler rolled into one.

Hey Robin. I'm new to your blog but not new to the green movement. I founds your site through BlogHer because I am looking to take my efforts to the next level. This is a great post and one that I can definitely relate to. I look forward to reading more!
